THB Weight?
Not sure if this is the right place for this thread, please move if it isn't!
I've had my little 11 month old THB for just under a month now; Ideally what should their weight be approximately (in grammes or ounces) if they're 7.2cm in length? Also what should the weight gain be each month? Sorry for all the questions! |

Hi
Here is a link to the Jackson's ratio for hatchlings. You'll get a rough idea of what torty's weight should be http://www.shelledwarriors.co.uk/for...ad.php?t=30500 |

My 2 are just one year old and they have access to whatever they want, whenever they want as they are in an outdoor enclosure. They are very different in their growth rates though. hope this helps, others will be along shortly. Pat x |

Hello
Going by the Jacksons ratio and personal records around the 90 gram mark at this size. Just a guideline, as the others have said, it can vary a lot with youngsters. |

Ok, thanks all for your help I'll have a look at the ratio to give me a rough idea. Obviously it needs to be slow, so I just wanted to check he's not gaining too quickly!

The main thing is that the growth is smooth, not bumpy. Weight gain should be in proportion to increase in the SCL (straight carapace length)
It is very difficult to day exactly what the weight gain should be each month as it depends on lots of things, how active the tort is, how big it is etc |
