They are the same as red foots i beleive...

What i do:
almost same as the red footed.
" geochelone carbonaria ''
I am giving them :
leafy greens ,fruits, mushrooms , carrots, dandelions ,some snails now and then
temp. day 28 - 32 C.
night 16 - 20 C
humidity aprox 75 %
The love a good place to hide , a tray to sook in and a place to warm up [basking light]
And they do well here.

Yep same as red foot care.

I keep my reds at 33c in warm and 27 cool spots and not allowing temps to drop below 20c at night.

hey guys i joined this site to specifically ask this question

[ since every website around contradict each other regarding cherry headed tortoise's ]

are cuttle fish's ok to put in "Om" [ my cherry head ]'s cage? ive heards alot of yes's and alot of no's. figured you guys would be the besy ask. atm hes grabbing it in his mouth. hes about 1 and a half years old. ive been feeding him kale and spinnach for the last week as its winter and theres not alot of foliage in the garden.

any tips from fellow cherry head owners would be much appreciated since i am a nervous owner ;p ive read to many scare storys while browsing looking for proper care sheets.

his enclosure is constantly between 32 and 28 C with one end with basking lamp and other with pool and pot.

torts will seek and find extra calcium if they require it

have you introduced your torts to weeds

Just goes to show you a difference of opinion... I've found they are very cold tolerant and remain more active in cooler temperatures than the northern race redfoots.

Hello, Ed. I do think that your opinion make sense to me. cherryheads might come from Bahia, The latitude of Bahia is higher than Guyana or Colombia, It mean the nighttime and winter temperatures in Bahia is colder than Colombia and Guyana. But what i said is based on the observation which was made by Fritzsche, he said:" during the cold season", cherryheads often lay directly under the heat source and less retreat to their shelter, on the other hand, the equatorial redfoots never went to the heat source. In the meantime, compare to Colombia ,Guyana and Venezuela, the nighttime temperatures of Bahia drops sharply. So I think that cherryheads might have a wider range of prefered temperatures than northern redfoots.
and I also believe your opinion is not different from mine.
