How much
I have had an enquiry from someone who wants to purchase two tortoises, I have never sold any before and I would obviously check them out to make sure that they know what it involves, my question is how much do you think I should charge. I have two Hermann torts that are 2 years old or 4 week old hatchlings that I would not sell until I am sure that they are healthy and the buyer is aware of what he would be taking on.
Thanks |

breeders usually ask around £100 for young torts however they must have their article 10 certs and be chipped if they are over 60mm, they can't be sold without.

Depends on where you live I think. Babies sell for £75-100 near me. Two year olds around £120.
You could phone around some local pet shops to find out their prices (125-165 in my area, much more expensive than breeders!), or look online and compare with other sellers/breeders near you. |

What type of Hermann torts are they? I paid £185 for my Testudo Hermanni Hermanni tortoise in August last year.

Good question. I assumed THB as they are the most common?

Under the species of testudo Hermanni it splits down into three sub species -
Testudo Hermanni Hermanni Testudo Hermanni Boettgeri Testudo Hercegovinensis The Testudo Hermanni Hermanni are the rarer sub species and therefore a little dearer......the experts can correct me if i am wrong. |
