I am not sure she will be going on for long. For now, she is given weeds and pellets to make sure she is boosted on vitamins. The eye became closed after the cheek got swollen so I am wondering if the problem isn't really in the cheek

in that case do you think she could have been stung? it looks really nasty but that is no indicator sometimes just body protecting itself. did vet checked inside mouth for abscess ?one of my torts has the hugest abscess for past 3 years on her leg and scoffs food like no tomorrow. I do think if vet isn't going to do anymore then second opinion or try the warm water and flush - it will probably ease of its own accord.

My first thought when I saw the photo was that it could be an abscess that needs draining but I assume the vet must have ruled that out.

Emma I very initially thought that as I knew a friend with a tortoise where they made a tiny slit with a very sharp knife under the eye and drained it - but not a lot came out though it did recede - was it the draining or healing on own account not sure, but same as you discounted it. I hope she is ok.

Very well could have been something n there aggravated the eye or she has really rubbed it badly if it was aggravating her - that is so very common too - the foreign body if there was one could well be out by now -warm soaks with water or saline may just do it if the vet isn't going to give any further ointment. I notice she is wet - just rain water with bits in dripping into the eye can set something off especially if she has rubbed at it The thing is with eyes sometimes they are best left alone so difficult situation for you and your Tort. The cheek thing can have been the reaction to rubbing too. Let us know how she gets on - warm and dry.

That was her a few weeks back. Actually, my friend has just told me, she is 20, not 60 and the inside of the mouth was checked at the same time
as she was asleep :/ |

That did look like an abcess, maybe part of the abcess got to the eye.
I would get a second opinion on the eye.

Not completely sure where the ear comes to on a tortoise but could it be some kind of ear infection?? I believe this does occur with tortoises and have seen photos that look similar of tortoises with ear abcesses or infections.
