Blood in with urates?
Really concerned about stewie the male ive just seperated. Hes eating etc perfectly normal, he did a normal wee yesterday and normal poo today but ive just checked on him now and he`s done a wee and there is ALOT of bright red blood with it (ALOT) . Ive checked him all over but hes not cut anywhere just dried blood around his tail from where the bloods come out with his wee. Im really worried and hoping its something minor, does anyone know what it could be?

Any animal passing blood is a cause for concern. I would suggest getting an appointment asap with a vet (one who knows about tortoises preferably).

Is it a boy? Could he have got his manhood out and cut it somehow?

If it was definitely blood I'd take him to a vets, just in case. He might have nicked his willy you don't want an infection getting in there...
You'll save yourself some sleepless nights if you get it checked out |

I really hope it is too, hes been booked in for this afternoon at birch heath.
Stewies still asleep and hes normally up by now, but i suppose hes bound to be a little weak from the loss of blood so im not going to put his lights on for a couple more hours so he can rest. I`ll let you know what the vet said xx |

If it's bright red fresh blood (rather than a darker brown) sounds like he may have just cut himself. How'd u get on at the vets?
