Recommend A Dog Breed
We've decided to get a new puppy at the end of the year, however are unsure of the breed we'd want - something around the size of a beagle would be perfect.
Does anyone have any recommendations of a good breed? Plus, is it better to get male or female? We've had male corgi's in the past. |

my partners mam & dad had a border collie called patch he sadly passed away last year but he was quite old. He was so soft and gentle and such a friendly dog, they are a lovely breed border collies

Personally I like a dog who will kill for it's keeper... and is capable of doing so... First choice... Bull Mastiff... then Rottie... German Sheapard.
I'm currently taking care of a boarder collie... it is a seriously cool dog. I told the daughter... when she leaves... the dog is payment for services rendered.

It would depend on what your life style is like.
There is a website you can put in somethings about yourself and it give you a list of breeds to look into, maybe worth googeling |

Another point... a female is so much easier to control... for some reason... not kidding.

i have a bearded colly cross, and he is the most adorable thing! i swear he can understand english and i think he thinks he's human too. i prefer the mixed breeds as they seem to have less health problems than pure breeds, especially in old age.

a lot really depends on your life style and how much exercise you can give, terriers can be a handfull, but saying that staffie bitches are very very good dogs ,
some breeds are daft, some are sneeky, but i wont mention breeds as i am bound to upset someone GSD are fantastic dogs, but i would choose a dog in that breed over a bitch as the bitches are much more protective beagles are very much a pack dog and need strong handling |
