data loggers?
these little fellas were in the tortoise trust newsletter...
anyone use them? i think they would be a great resource for actually checking the humidity and temperature of a room or an enclosure... handy to log the temp and humidity of a shed or garage that may be used the following year for hibernation... or just to check out existing enclosures to see if they really are sufficient... http://www.signatrol.com/ |

Hi Dugy,
I know one manufacurer of these data loggers was doing a special offer if you were a TT member. You'll have to check the TT forum site for info if its still valid. I think they were doing a deal on the device (which is a USB I think) but you still have to buy the software. I would like to get some of these at some point, it would be a great record to have, the only downside is that without comparable data from the tortoises natural habitat its difficult to know if your own readings are "right" in a sense. The TT do occasionally release some of their information though. |

i recon it was this brand if TT included a write up in the news letter....
thats true of not knowing actual data in the natural habitat although we could get it as close to what we think (at the moment) is correct... for example the temperatures we stick to for basking spots, ambient temperatures and night time temps of enclosures and ambient temperatures whilst hibernating.... might get one off of santa |
