The only people I know who had it done have had to go back to wearing glasses latter. In my family we have big pupils and have to wear sunglasses all the time.
I would not be concidered I don't think as my sight is minus 11.
Let us know how you get on

Dugy what is your prescription?

Makes you wonder what your eyes have to be like for the 'from' £395 price everyone I know has had to pay thousands not hundreds. I so want it but it's too expensive, oh and I am a woose

erm its minus 2.75 one way and minus 3.50 the other in teh right eye

and minus 2.50 one way and minus 3.25 the other way in the left eye..

i have liek two prescriptions in each eye cos of my astigmatism... too confusing!!

its 395 per eye for people with straightforward just weak eyes... but thats not using a lazer its a different surgery which is more risky...

consultations are free... i would reccomend getting one.

Completely agree, if they could put me under I would definitely go for it! I think I will stick with the intellectual look for the time being (that's what I tell myself I look like with my glasses on to make me feel better about wearing them!!

Hats off to you if you go through with it, I just wish I could bring myself to even have a consultation, my eyes are going jittery just at the thought!! It's sad really cos I much prefer how I look without them and so end up going to weddings and some parties without them and then can't see a bloody thing!!

I went along and had all the tests. I don't think anyone gets it done for £395 per eye. They just say that to get you through the door. Can totally relate to the huge pupils afterwards. I am sensitive to light anyway but could have done with some very dark sun glasses. I looked a bit weird but my husband found it strangely attractive. They also quoted me over £2,000 but then said they wouldn't do it as I have epilepsy
I have heard that short sightedness can right itself as you get older and also that some people who have had it done have needed glasses after a few years.
I am going to think about having it done again in the future but will go to a hospital (eye hospital?) as I didn't like it in there to be honest.

Just so you know there's two sides to it Dugy, Jeremy Vine did a show last year about it and there were some real horror stories about people who had gone blind and stuff. Also some people had it done and still needed specs and some had near vision in one eye and far vision in the other. Those of course are the extreme cases but best to be aware of them
Also, it has to be repeated every so often, it isn't permanent.
A couple of days ago I lost my reading specs up the river somewhere out my top pocket and had to get new lenses put in an old pair of frames at £56
