Default Ibera help

Hello was wondering if anyone can help me. I have two ibera tortoises (Max and Blaze) who are now 6 and half years old. Recently I have noticed one of them has been showing more interest in the other so has been following the other around a lot etc. Yesterday I saw max ram Blaze twice then starting mating Blaze - as Blaze started walking away Max went to bite at blaze foot twice but luckily didn't mange to really get the skin. I then separted them and have been again today when I have put them outside. I was wondering do you think they are just generally one female one male so the mating was always going to be inevitable or could it be that they are trying to show their dominance. Any help would be appreciate Thankyou.

First things first, we need to establish was the sexes are. Post photos of the underneath of your torts, be sure to show the tail area.

This could be two males fighting for dominance over the other:0)
It could be two females doing the same, but this is rarer:0)
Or it could be male and female:0)
So pictures are vital to be able to help:0)
I have kept and bred iberas for over 35yrs:0)
