my new redfoot (re-home)
Hey
I picked up little delia yesterday from her owners as they no longer wanted her due to the fact her and her husband had just broken up. I drove all the way to fleet and back (8hours around trip) They gave me the viv (sorry i no viv is a swear word on here) and the set up they had bought from there local pet shop! As we picked her up 8pm yesterday eveing and we didnt get bck until late we put her in the viv over night (without the glass in). Ive just been looking at the set up and to my suprise her day light bulb is just a house one from co-op! she was just being fed salad and no calcium. she has a burnt head thanks to the stupid house light bulb. and has never had a bath and she is 3yrs old! I dont mean to moan but why do people get these wonderfull animals then just to basicly treat them badly thanks to pet shops? what would be best to put on a burnt head? I will add some photos later on once ive got her all set up corectly. im hoping the bath will help her shell as its so very dry. my mums just given her some weeds and well she is loving them! |

What a sad story - thank goodness you've rescued her. Best thing is to put up some pics as the experts on here will be able to see and advise. Good luck with her xx

Well done on your rescue
normal bulbs arent a bad thing as they throw off heat, aslong as they are the correct distance away so they tortoise cant burn itself Redoots are better off with a cermic bulb as they dont bask
