HI Darren Yes the baby pancakes are out doors 24/7,Thinking about it all of my babys are housed out doors. They stay out doors come rain or shine,I do how ever use hides when its not very nice out.I allso use pollcarbanate on 1 half of there enclosure,This acts like a green house believe me the temps are very diffrent from 1 side of the enclosure to another.I place there hide in these area and out of these area,They will spend the hole of the summer months living this way.I personal think this is far better way of houseing any tortoise regardless of its speices,In the winter months they are kept in doors in tortoise tables. So in my experience keeping pancakes or any temperate or none temperate speices this way is far better for the tortoise,Keeping them out doors all so helps reduce over feeding which you will end up with nice and slow growth rates hence nice smooth carapace. So making sure you put there hides under the polycarbonate they will stay dry and free from the damp,The cold the can cope with quite easy.So mate get them out doors, trust me they will be fine mate.
