I'm sooooooooooooo cross I'm fuming
Not often I lose my rag but this morning I lost it big time.
And I know you guys will understand. The kids had got up early and I could hear them downstairs and lay in bed for 10 mins just listening. It went quiet........... That signals to me that something has gone wrong. I came downstairs to find that they had been "playing" with the tortoises. They're water bowl completely filled with dirt and both torts covered in wet dirt and looking shell shocked.......... I have no idea what was going through the kids heads. They not to do such things and are envolved in looking after them, picking weeds, taking the temp of their baths observing them. They always ask if they can touch them or stroke their shells. I.ve got them writing lines "Tortoises are not toys" and "I will be good". I've talked with them explaining they are living creatures that feel and sense things. I just don'y know hat else to do. Anyway that's my rant over with! Thank you for you ears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Thank you! I feel that I over reacted but I can't allow this sort of behaviour.
I'm with you about the pigeons too I hate it... The thing is they're not my children they're my OH's which makes it even more hard... I hope I've done the right thing? |

I think that curiosity is a powerful thing and sometimes it just gets the better of kids sometimes. They know they shouldn't but they like to find out what if...

I am sure it will never happen again
when my son was 4 he had two friends to play,a boy and a girl, when they had gone home my son said that the girl had taken a fish out of his tank and tried to see if it would swim on the carpet . I was horrified,I rang the mother of the child and she told me that My son should not have a pet in his bedroom Thankfully the fish was ok

I had this problem with my daughter once who decided to feed the snakes! (12ft boa and 3ft child aaaaahhhhh!!) when she was a lot younger...I think curiosity just takes the better of them and they don't think about what they are actually doing...Freyja has never done anything with them since without us about but they are all under lock and key for when baby is bigger!!
