question about pancakes
I am seriously considering this species, even though I said I wouldn't get another species until I have built up my existing groups to a level I am nearly happy with but with the leopards moving into new digs I will have a large table spare and the temptation is overwhelming lol
So just in the interest of curiosity/research (depends who is asking )does any one have any links to good caresheets/ husbandry information. Also I have had a quick look on all the forums and breeders lists and I don't see many breeders of pancakes out there. How realistic would it be to get hold of ukcb hatchlings/youngsters?

I am a bit biased, but I would say you are making a good choice if you are looking at another species!
I don't have any caresheets links, but will add my thoughts. I have personally found these to be the easiest species I have kept. A good size table, with sand/soil substrate with plenty of rocky crevices and a UV/heat lamp is all they need to keep them happy. Mine get bathed 2-3 times a week and are fed a mix of weeds and grasses with chopped hay sometimes added. Infact I would imagine diet is similar to what you are used to with Leopards. It took me a while to find UKCB, but I got there in the end but had to travel down to Gloucester to get them. They don't come overly cheap, but are well worth it. I should imagine the breeder I got mine from will have more avalible, I will dig her e-mail address out if you like? Also more and more people are keeping adults and potential breeding groups now, sp expect them to crop up more over the next few years. If you want to come and see some up close you are welcome here anytime!

I have long had a love for Pancakes as well. Have been keeping my eyes open but they are rarely available. I know they have to be kept in groups was wondering how many would constitute a group, three, five or more.
Good luck in your search Lea

Someone was selling a breeding group (1 male and 7 females) on RFUK last month for about £3,000. Not sure if they are still available though and I've seen hatchlings come up fairly regularly for around £250 each
