Praying Mantis
Following on from my first thread, here are some of the Praying Mantis (Mantises, Mantii?!) that I *used* to keep. They are very easy to keep, but breeding them is extremely labour intensive. I now only keep the odd one or two.
Part 1 Pseudempusa pinnapavonis - Peacock Mantis Unknown Asian mantis sp. Phyllocrania paradoxa - Ghost Mantis |

Part 2
Creobroter gemmatus - Indian Flower Mantis Rhombodera basilis - Giant Shield Mantis Tenodera sinensis - Chinese Mantis Pseudocreobroter wahlbergii - Spiny Flower Mantis I can't recommend these enough for anyone wishing to keep an unusual bug. They are quite harmless (only really capable of giving a small nip) and extremely easy to care for. |

Brilliant, I thought hard about keeping these, but have been put off by some of the research I read.
How long is a mantis' lifespan on average?

They are lovely pictures but I have shivers down my spine- am not brave enough for bugs of any kind!

Wow excellent pics, didn't realise there were so many types. When I think of praying Mantis I think of the green ones. I saw one once in Bulgaria, it was HUGE and was on the side of a pint glass in one of the market stalls.

I love them and your pictures are stunning.
