my new scruffies
Thought I would introduce my new scruffy girlies, they was freed from their cages on saturday morning and by 2pm they were making themselves at home in my chicken shed. They have been rehomed to me via the battery hen welfare trust, the link is in my sig
I have to say they are not too bad in appearance, in fact they are the best in condtion that I have ever had Just arrived and being welcomed/inspected by Toby and my two remaining hens Isobel and Iris also ex-battery hens

Thanks everyone
They are coming on really well now and are growing new feathers so they look scruffier than ever at the moment but by summer they will be pretty in the sunshine we are going to get plenty of Claire they do lay, but you have to remmeber that is all they have done whilst they was in the cages so they need plenty of rest at first then they do eventually go on to be normal laying hens unless they have some health issues

Tortmad they are adorable, i have 3 rescue hens and i cant belive what lovely characters they have after all they have been through. I love your chicken shed very posh and cosy, it doesent look like it will be long before they are out and about trashing your garden.
