Default Weed pick today - plus pictures of the tortoises

I had a great weed pick today
First time ive not had to add any supermarket food

I drove to some waste ground and got:
Chickweed and lots of it
Bittercress
Red dead nettle
White Dead Nettle
Sow thistle
Sticky Bud

Just goes to show weeds are out there

Nice one, Sarah! The field at the end of my road is just starting to sprout with weeds, a few more weeks and it will be tortoise heaven!

Best way is to ask someone local who knows what they're looking for to go on a weed pick with you. You soon pick it up that way.

Wow! Was actually wondering were they allowed sticky bud last night, but it seems like you've answered my question!! Lucky tortoises, getting such a meal! You've certainly been busy!

Sarah your torts are lucky

I have snow here again and a fridge full of pillow packed salad

It is starting to get expensive now, we have had so much snow and hard frosts the leopards have been out once since christmas

Sarah, you sure your not posting pics from last summer? They are starting to sprout here but most I've seen been thinking in a couple of weeks will get more of a handle from them. Having said that I noticed sheperds purse, sow thistle and red dead nettle in our garden, just wish these frosts would end!

Chris not this sunday, as v day, but next - instead of going for a ridicuously long jog why don't go for a weed pick, could try the wasteground down the road from me.

I'm so jealous, the ground here is still frozen. It is still snowing, and there areas where the snow hasn't gone from the last heavy snow fall. I want it to warm up now, feel so sorry for Torty with her salad. Even my buddlea has died from the frost this year
