Default Question on if my Tort was a "little too happy" *wink wink

Hi All,

Recently new owner of a russian tortoise named Tom. I had him out of his enclosure not that long ago, the washing machine was vibrating in the background (not sure if this bears any relevance!) and Tom had wedged himself against the tv stand.

Went over to see him after a few minutes and there was a pool of white stuff which im kinda guessing is "baby gravy". Am i right or does he maybe have worms or something?

(also, I had just given him a quick lukewarm bath and used a soft toothbrush to gently clean his underside)

Any guidance would be helpful

Thanks

Sounds like your Russian tortoise passed urates which is very normal and usually white it colour.

Lol, this is called urates and is perfectly natural for torts to expel. It comes out when they wee and as long as it is not lumpy/gritty then all is fine. Your tort will have probably had a good drink when you bathed him, which often encourages them to wee/release urates.
