Combi Bulbs
Hello
I have used Megaray for years but they seem to cause issues for me so I am thinking of giving another brand a go. Any favourites or recommendations?

Hi Stacey
the arcadia lamps have a great reputation with members here. I think most go for the 100 watt. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Arcadia-D3...1%26rkt%3D1%26

I prefer separate uv and basking, but have one table with a combi and have always used Arcadia and had no issues.

Hi can I ask what issues you have had. Maybe the problem is combi lamps in the situation you have them.

They keep flickering and then stop working way before their time. I've spoken to Megaray and they have sent replacements but they do the same. I have them in a Dome Holder pointing straight down. I have had two for some which I have to keep switching between, it's like they need a rest and it's not like they're on 24/7. It's a shame because i like being loyal to a company and I have been using Megaray since 2010 but I think I need to try another brand now.
Thank you for your responses, I will have a look at the other options.

I have been using mega ray for many years and have on occasion had flickering the reason I do persevere with them is because of the increased activity during the winter months for my young Leopards . Previous I used Powersun which I had no issues with. To be honest I rarely use Lamps in the summer and in the winter my heatlamps are only on for up to 6 hours daily

Arcadia are brilliant I think. ive tried different makes 125W 160 W etc but dependent on set up I love the 80w Arcadia though have them 100w for colder areas, they aren't so dazzling to look at either. I sometimes have 7 going in different tables and the glow and warmth adds to the ambience. CB
