Default Baby tort with one eye.

I have had a baby tortoise hatch that has just one eye the other eye was ok for first week but now it seems his only good eye seems to be closing up. I keep bathing ot on cooled boiled water has any one got any ideas please

I think he really needs to see a reptile vet as only they can tell whether he has sight in his eye and whether antibiotics are needed if he has some sort of infection. Bathing it can't do any harm but long term an expert is needed to confirm what's wrong. If he is blind then it is a difficult decision to make as to what sort of quality of life he might have in the future.

What kind of substrate do you use? He may have something in that eye, or a scratch, etc. It would be a good idea to take him to a vet and have the eye looked at and maybe flushed out with sterile saline. Also, the vet will give you a soothing eye ointment.

morning Jandh, is everything ok ? Vets are a good call. When mine have problems its usually substrate so I bathe with anti allergy / hayfever solution and it usually ok after feww days - accepting the Vet will known more details than I, CB
