Hi, what substrate is Georgie on? Is their a chance he is pooing and you are missing it, if he is on topsoil. Is he eating normally, bright eyed and active?
I know it's difficult at this time of year to get weeds, what are you feeding him at present?

Im wondering if his meals havent got enough fibre in them. Might need a boost of something like dried grass, plantain(if you can still get it - ribwort), or perhaps try some of the grass pellets or Pre Alpen cobs. Im wondering if perhaps his poo is watery? Perhaps its just disintegrating into the soil substrate...or yukky as it is, perhaps he has eaten it..??
See what else is said. But my first thought is I am wondering is maybe the diet is fibre lacking.... xx |

hes currently getting whats left of my winter destroyed weeds.... and pellets with the odd bit of salad, hes been avoiding the pellets for a while, but the past few days he has started eating them again and the past 3 days he has stuffed his face, so fingers crossed something might be on his way... he is on topsoil as he has always been its just this past month pooh just disappeared and he drags his readigrass everywhere so it would make it easier to spot on top of that, i checked his bed, im wondering maybe hes just sleeping to much and not spending enough time digesting im jut worried he is blocked up lol

What you might be able to do is get something like grass pellets, and just mix these in with your normal pellet feed. Just mix it up, like a big pie. If he sniffs it and doesnt want to know, dress it up with a bit of cucumber juice to entice him.
See if others have other views for you Vikki, I think what your feeding is fine, but maybe that the fibre content is missing. |

The Pre Alpin are cobs and are very big. Some torts eat them, some dont want to know. I dont want you to feel pressured to buy them, Sarah sells grass pellets in her shop if you want to just try grass. If you want to try the Pre Alpen Cobs -There is also a thread...with MUCH debate talking about them. On that thread is someone I think (a member of this forum) that sells them. You use water with them, and they soften up and expand out. Imagine weetabix...then when you add milk or water, it takes the fluid in and expands.
If you do decide to try, then my suggestion would be to try the HERB cobs. Rather than the more grassier one. Lily is taking to these, but its not been a walk in the park! Lily is very picky...but I have been giving tiny bits every day for the last 2 weeks. I wanted him to remember the taste - this was before the snow came. I would sometimes have to hold it out to him so he took from my fingers. This was more to keep momentum I am at the stage now - Im delighted to say, where he will eat a little pile of it, with no intervention from me. So it can work, but I cant guarentee it...of course. xx It might be something else that is the problem. But it wouldnt hurt Vikki...xx |

Hi Viki, I am having issues with Ralph and his poo but we went in the car and he poo'd 3 times. I just think they slow down this time of year. Try aloe vera as it has laxative effects
