Hi All!
Hope your all good... I'm new to this site... however have found it really impressive and informative.. Well.. I have recently got a lovely little Horsfield... we've called him Walter (he is only 18 months according to the vet so not sure whether he is a boy or a girl yet - but he's Walter nevertheless) We just built him a new home - a tortoise table if you will, which is about 4ft long and a couple of ft wide... its much better than the glass fronted viv we had him in before which was much to small. He loves his new house! we are also growing his food in the table (dandellion and chicory) on a raised up bed - we've got his temp just perfectly to. ... we found getting the right info about him was really difficult, with the pet shop telling us one thing and the vet telling us another.. one thing we have decided on is that the next tortoise wont be bought from a pet shop. Walter had worms when we got him as well as one of his legs being a bit stuck out.. the vet wormed him and after a few weeks with proper excersice and food ... his leg is much better but was worried sick as any new mum would be!! ) i've really taken to walter and I am already planning another I will post some photos when I can work out how to do this... |
