My pancake pair are about 7-8 years old. How heavy are yours?

I haven't weighed them so not sure. The female is quite a bit heavier than the male. They seem to be a lot more gentle with each other than some of the med torts. Do you find that?

Yes I will weigh her and let you know. It would be great to have baby pancake torts. Just noticed you are from Stoke. I lived there for a few years, really enjoyed it! I found it really friendly. A lot of the locals used to call people duck! Do they still do that?

So sorry about your news Jason
My female lays every 4 to 5 weeks and has been laying 3 eggs for the last 2 years. Was your female doing any digging before she laid her egg? Danny

Do you mean your pancake has laid three eggs at once or over a period of time. Three at one time is brilliant. Jason |

If she wasn't digging in your laying area, than it sounds like she wasn't liking what you've done. What do you have for a laying area?
The first year she had a 1 egg clutch and 45 days later a 2 egg clutch. Her second year she did three 1 egg clutches at 30 day intervals. Danny

I use top soil from the garden centre and the laying area is in the cooler part of the enclosure.
