A bit worried
I'm a bit concerned about my 1 yr old Marginated , Tiggy, she looks miserable, she doesn't want to eat or move, if I put her down any where she just sits there. She keeps putting her head out then squeezing it right back in as if she is trying to do a poop. Could she be constipated? I started giving them Komodo pellets about a week ago, but only a very tiny amount and they were well soaked, and I am only giving them the pellets twice a week. I'm very worried , any help would appreciated .

I would get a tortoise vet to have a look at her. As it might be nothing, but it also could be a bladder stone or the like, she is trying to pass. Better to be safe than sorry.

Hi Suze
I agree with Sandy I would get her xrayed just to check that it isn't a bladder stone. Mary |

Agree with above. Lots of baths might help. Hope all goes well at the vets.

I've been to the vets, it could possibly be a bladder infection, or a blockage of some sort, she can't really say for sure , she had bit of a poke with a cotton bud inside her tail and nothing in there, so she said to keep soaking to hydrate her and try and get some fluids in her mouth, if by tomorrow she still hasn't passed any thing , then she will do an X-ray , to make sure there's no blockage or bladder stones.

Contact Dan Suze. He can advise you on a baby oil enema (sounds bit frightening but you only have to insert end of blunt syringe tiny bit of tail) this will help to lubricate anything & help it come out. Give lots of baths. Dan may have other tips too. Hope she will soon be ok.
