Elisa the Sulcata's first weeks
Elisa's been with us a couple months now and I've never uploaded any of the pictures - here are a few from around the time she came. I'll have to get some new ones of her in her proper enclosure tomorrow...
Doing what she does best - devouring things... Taking a soak... Having a supervised jaunt around the place... And to sleep in her box. I also have a picture of how powerful she is, walking effortlessly through the side of a box but it is rather too blurry to put in, I shall try to get a new one of her doing so. So far she's settled very well. She weighs in at around 9lb and SCL is just a smidgen over 31cm. |

Haha - thanks! She's gorgeous yes, the whole family love her and it makes grass and weed collecting very easy when five people are picking bits up wherever they are. She absolutely loves cuttlefish and always has a fair bit on hand. As I've not had her long I can't take any credit for her growth really - I was slightly worried about the space between the last two dorsal scutes (hope thats right?) above where her hips are, theres a little diamond shaped area which is slightly depressed were I think her shell grew a bit too fast for her hips - Darren explained it all to me. Her shell also looked a little 'plasticy' back then but you will see when I put the new pics up that its now a bit more matt from better UV exposure and doesn't sound quite as follow when tapped.

JP she looks in excellent shape and condition, nice to see a Sulcata grown so well not many people achieve this in captivity with a first time tortoise

She is lovely, she definately likes her cuttlefish I like the third pic where she's looking up. It looks like she is saying "what you looking at."
