Damaged Beak :(
just got Herman out for a bath this evening and noticed that he has managed to damage his beak, it is like it has cracked on one side and folded up, i have attached a pic but its not great as he refuses to hold still, he is still eating and still active as normal. is there anything that i can do?
Jim

It should just grow down Jim, as long as there is no infection. Does it look like he maybe caught it on something? They shouldn't really split for no reason, I don't think
My Norm had this problem a few years ago, he was quite young at the time and under Danny's advice I got it checked out at the vets. The vet said it was ok, no infection and it would grow down - which it did - but the cause of the split was in fact him developing an undershot jaw. He looks a bit wonly these days but other than that absolutely fine |

thanks for the fast reply, yeah i'm thinking he caught it maybe on his food dish as when he eats he goes mad as if he thinks if he doesn't get it gone in 2 seconds it will be taken off him.
It does not look to be infected, i will keep an eye on him over the next day or so and if he goes off his food or anything i will take him to the vet. Jim Jim
