How much weight gain should a young redfoot gain a week or month?

i have a detailed sheet consisting of 3 years of wieght and size recording of my reds, they average from 20g to 50g per month. they are now putting on about 50g per month as they are older but in thier early years it was around 20g, the size increase per month is about 4mm.

Sounds good , all I do is keep a record each month, as long as gains in weight are made each month I think your fine, also it's a good way to see of theres anything wrong with the torts, for example dory had lost weight over a month and wasn't gaining any, this resulted in a trip to the vets and now all is good, if I didn't weigh her I wouldn't have ever knew.

really interesting post, I will now keep more thorough records.
Always weigh my snakes but never thought to weigh my tortoise. |

It's a good thing to do, I recommend using microsoft office or similar based computer software to put it into a spread sheet, saves the trees lol

It all depends on the environmental conditions and the amount of food they get.
Nobody can put a set rate of growth on any tortoise unless everyone kept their tortoises in the exact same manner. As long as the tortoise has good weight I'd suggest that you pay no attention to the rate of growth.
