What most people go by is "Enough to cover their shell"

If you are feeding a varied diet of plants and weeds, then I wouldn't restrict food.

I don't restrict food, so long as its the right mix of weeds and supplements and they are well hydrated , there shouldn't be a problem, having done this , this summer I have seen good shell growth and no pyramiding

I put out a mixture for Quinn he has a good munch and thats him he doesnt seem to go back to it again until i put out fresh stuff the next day, and then he might not even eat that much the next day. just depends how active he has been. He gets weighed on Friday so will see how he is doing then i guess.

His favourite food is definitely the romaine lettuce, he isnt keen on weeds/flowers but im trying to mix it into his food so hopefully get him onto just weeds in time.

What do you call a massive amount of food though? Also if you feed whole leaves, what can seem like a massive pile actually wouldn't be very much if chopped up. The breeder I bought my girls from chops up her weeds (also means her torts get a good mix, and she sprinkles the nutrobal in there) and keeps sandwich bags full of this chopped mix in her fridge. She goes generally by 'enough to fill their empty shell' (so not just covering the surface area, but imagine their shell was empty and it's that volume) and this is chopped stuff.
I personally don't chop at the moment (I pick weeds fresh from their outdoor enclosure, which is all tort friendly plants but obviously they're indoors now temps have dropped) so it looks like I feel them MASSES as it's a big heap of whole leaves, but I bet if I chopped it up it would seem like an awful lot less.
