Temp question for thb
Hello just wondering how people keep there temps for cooler nights ? I have not yet had an issue but can see me getting one when it drops cooler . I use the Arcadia 160 and nothing else so how would I keep the temp ok when this is switched off at night ? Will it be ok as indoors or do I need to use something else to help ? Many thanks

When it got really cold last year I had to use an infrared bulb, think it was 70 watt. Did the job fine. x

I use the same Arcadia bulb as you during the daytime. My table is in my dining room which has central heating on during the day in winter but I turn off heating at night in whole house. The room temp falls to about 15 degrees but my torts are fine. Light comes on at 7am and by 7.30 they are both basking and waiting for breakfast.

Thank you I am still very new to this and the last 2 mornings have been colder than the usual summer mornings web had and have noticed the temps are about 18 19 and worried it was a little cold as she wasn't getting up so got her up in warm bath and put her under lamp and she seemed ok then . Just unsure what to do as not cold enough for heating to come on yet but bit chillier than the norm x

I use a ceramic heat emitter on a thermostat when its cold at night, just so I don't worry really... And have been thinking of outing it back up as like you say the nights have been cooler!

I do this as well. I use a dimmer thermostat with a Komodo radiant heat CHE (100w). You just set the thermostat at the desired temp that you don't want the room temp to drop below. The ceramic will warm..on a gradual basis according to how much below the room temp goes. You will need a few fixtures for these heat sources. xx

During the cold night's I use either a moon glow bulb or the infrared build.
I rarely had to used them though as we kept the heating on at night. |

I think it's ok for the temps to fall to 15C at night
In a house they will be sheltered from the elements below 10C is not recommended

Ok so got up this morning and it was sooo cold ! The temps where on 18 is this ok ? Or does it need to be higher over night ? Just worried if I should be using something else at night or if it is ok ? X
