tortoises for sale on facebook
Come across a facebook page that are selling tortoises..Loadsof different species including Ploughshare,spider tortoises.

It is so most likely a scam. I haven't seen the facebook page you mention but seriously, when you hear 'spider tortoise for sale' especially on facebook, scam alert! And plougshare tortoise too. Seen quite a few of scam adverts on other reptile forum as well lately.

Probably a scam, like this one tortoiseforsale.org...........yes it is a complete scam as my daughter tried to buy two torts for my birthday last. Turned out to be a fake address and website, credit card company gave her money back and told her it was a scam.
As the website says they sell everything and at cheap prices which is the give away. Andy |

odds are they'd be imported torts and I'm sure people who deal with abroad can get hold of any species you want, the rarer ones do turn up at the big shows/sales abroad. However what the legal needs are for importing them I wouldn't know and to be honest I'd always steer clear of dealers unless they'd been recomended by someone. There are people on here who could maybe get hold of the rarer ones or at least would know where to look so its always worth asking on the forums before trying 'iffy' adverts.
