Feeling hungover
I went to bed last night at a reasonable time after an evening of chilling on the sofa watching TV (no alcohol involved). Slept right through until 8.30am no problems, but woke up feeling like I'd had a full-on night out on the sauce! Got a pounding headache, really dry mouth and feel a bit zombie-fied. Does anyone else get this? Any thoughts on what causes it? It happens to me quite regularly...

Weekend headaches. I get them too. Always have.
Do you get up early for work weekdays? Then have a little lie in on a weekend? Something to try is this - on a sat/sun - just get up like you normally do, make a coffee, drink it then go back to bed. See if that makes you not get one. For some reason, I've been doing this Saturdays..then back to bed and I still can drop back off, then when I get up (eventually) I don't seem to get a headache. I've tried water, the dehydration thing as well, I take a pint of squash up every night, and just sip if I get up. Just food for thought there, maybe something else to try? But I know the feeling...xx |

I often find when I sleep in longer on a weekend I get up feeling pants , and sometime I do get a pounding head etc. I once did what Rach has suggested , got up as it was a weekday, had breakfast and went back to bed for an hour.

Yes, think you could all be right with the dehydration thing - I'm dreadful for drinking enough liquids sometimes. The headache has turned into a blinder today though : (

Yes Yuna and Doodle, I do sleep in slightly later at weekends. I call these episodes my work hangovers!

Believe me Lisa, I do the same...just knackered and enjoy a lie in. But try the above suggestion about just getting up (only up to have a coffee or tea or something) - usual early work time , then back to bed. You'll drop back off I reckon and would like to see if it makes a difference. If you google 'headaches on weekend' you'll see loads of stuff on it and lots of poor old sufferers. My other half doesn't get them much..and he's having a lie in too... Not fair lol xx
