Default vote for my fireplace keep it or dump it

bought old original house (2 years ago ) renovating it completely, working on upstairs at the moment, it's nearly finished there are 3 fireplaces downstairs but should i keep this 1, it has lots of little details and needs a bit of work to restore it, notice the hob things at the bottom






and no laughing at the carpet i got to live with

I would keep it, but if you decide you dont want it, get a few reclamation people in, or the people that sell restored fireplaces and surrounds to give you a quote for what they would pay you. These are not cheap to buy second hand, so if it doesn't fit in with what you want, get them to take it out properly and pay for the privilige. Then spend the money on something you do want.
