Zoo med lamp stand
Ok a few questions about the lamps stand I know a majority of you guys use the zoomed one http://www.reptiles.swelluk.com/rept...FSPHtAodw38A_w
My questions: 1. Is the maximum height from the ground to the top of the stand or to the bottom of the dome? 2. Because Im guessing its going to be to the top of the stand we are going to have to wedge the base between our tortoise table and the table that the Tort table is on so how thick is the base of stand in millimetres, please be as accurate as possible. Thank you! |

Yes its to the top of the stand. The base is somewhere around 3mm
You'll probably be wanting the large version. Check surrey pets also, they might be cheaper.

It is the standard one I'm talking about here, the small one is no use for tort tables as it's too low.
I measured it to the highest point it could extend to and it is 38 and a quarter inches. The hook that the lamps hang from is 2 inches lower than that so 36 and a quarter inches is the point you hang a lamp from. It depends on what lamp you have but mine is the Exo Terra glow light lamp, size large (25cm) and from the hanging point to the bottom of the bulb it is more or less 10 and a half inches. The base is a metal plate which slides under the table and measures only 2mm thick, the weight of the table holds it in place Last edited by Alan1; 20-09-2012 at 12:30 PM. |

Forget swell and use surreypetsupplies for you equipment. We have the zoomed standard stands and they work well for our tortoise table.

I wont be using swell that was just an example I normally use ebay as I've found them cheaper than surrey sometimes ill do my shopping around though. Alan we use the glow light lamp too, we've just bought our first arcadia d3 as a posed to the solar glow which keeps blowing so we'll be playing about with the adjustments to get the temp right. Thanks for the help all!
