star's weight gain?
Hi, i have two indian stars which i got last month from a reptile shop and they've had them for about a year, and said they they were about 2-3 years old which i'm now kinda doubting.
I've fed them the same amount of food they did in the store which is a exo terra medium feeding dish a day of weeds and grasses which is a better diet than they had in the store as they only were fed on lettuce. But when i got them the biggest was 234g (102mm) and smallest 128g (83mm)and this month when i weighed them they were 268g and 140g. Which is 34g (15%) and 12g (10%) increase from last month. When i weighed them i thought that this was too much and i've tried to find out how much they're supposed to put on but only found weight gain for meds. So if there's any star keepers or anyone who can help me ? Because i'm getting a bit worried over this and really don't want to overfeed them. Thanks Here's a pic of Michelangelo and Donatello |

That's a perfectly fine weight gain for your Stars. Just keep doing exactly what your doing, no diets for them.
They both look great. Danny

You are doing excellent with them
I have 2, 3 year olds fed the same one 196g one 100g male and female And a 6 year old female at 600g. The main thing to look for is smooth growth and yours are looking great, well done

They look gorgeous, it's possible that the lovely healthy food you are giving them now is more fibrous and bulky than the lettuce they were eating before hence a bit more weight inside which can only be a good thing.
