Default Redfoot Lighting / UVB

Hi All,

Just wondering what is the suggested time the UVB tube and head light should be left on each day in red foot indoor tables? I know they are not as reliant on ligthing as others so was not sure how long we should leave it on daily.

From what i can gather the ambient temperature and humidity are most important and provided they can be maintained at a required level the rest comes second.

So again just wondering how long i should set the timer for!

Thanks,

Michael / Madalina[/u]

Heya Michael and Madalina. If you are using a tube then depending on the strength its about twelve hours, for a combined lamp such as a megaray it would be around six hours,

All the best, see you Tuesday!

Does anyone know if the t rex active flood 100w combined heat/uv should be on for a period of 6 hours like the megaray or for 12 hours like the tubes.
Thanks.

we do a Mega-Ray do a 60w Low UV lamp, now i am not suggesting this is the uv for redfoots but just there is a lamp that may be more suitable for reds ?

Maybe an experianced keeper of reds could comment !

I use strip lights for my reds and the UVB output is less.
However im planning a new table for my babies and hoping to use a mega ray, but i will use lots of plants/hides to break the UVB up like Darren does.
