Yes, they all have names and this is who I have.....

Poppy a Mexican Fire Leg
Gypsy a Mexican Red Knee
Insey-Winsey a Honduran Curly Hair
Fudge a Dessert Blond
Cookie a Pink Zebra Beauty
Nancy a White Knee
Titch an Euthalus Es.p
Godzilla a Pink Samon Bird Eater
Sonic a Marinique Pink Toe

I used to be petrified of the big spiders we get here in the house.
I decided to fight my fear head on and started off with one tarantula.
Ended up finding them so fascinating that I got a few more.
Those big house spiders now look rather small and humble!!

omg you are soooo brave, I thought I would look up Godzilla the big one on images on the internet and geeeez, there is no way I can even look at them let alone have one on my hand. A huntsman launched itself at me once, maybe they are attackers... then don't get me onto funnel web...You should write a book because that is amazing.

And Sandy I owe you an apology....it wasn't the girlie who had the log friend .....sorry, just realised I swapped round areas ! though one of my female is a bit adventurous....

I don't handle my tarantulas. It really isn't a good idea in case they get spooked and make a dash for it or fall and split themselves open....

Love the names.
How brave to face your fears. Even more amazing to go straight for the big guys!

A picture would still be good as a lot of vets have no idea how to sex a tortoise.
Females will ride each other and make all the noises that a male will but normally only when they are gravid or being dominant.

Can you have a totally dominate female all the same with all the Tortoises? or are they fickle ! I ask because one of my females will bite everything going and wonder whether she will mellow one day if I place her with one she likes. She is a spur and use to live with her friend a young tortoise male but I separated them when I adopted them as I could see if would lead to heartache later (and for all the mixing reasons).

Gone are the days of Charlotte's Webb. I didn't really like her. Sorry. CB

Egyptian Dan sexed her from photos on here as well as my reptile vet so I'm certain of her gender.
I think it's just a dominance thing. Since giving them more room, extra hides etc things have settled down a bit. Once they can get outside I'm fairly confident things will go back to normal.
Thanks for all the comments.
