You've got more confidence in me than I have Emma. I just feel like crying right now. It's so frustrating. There's no "my computer" I can't turn the volume up and down using the function and up and down keys, I can't lock the mouse pad, there's no button on the laptop like the old one. Im having to put my favourites in one at a time afer I've emailed them to yself. The method Alan found doesn't work for me. It's just awful.

Oh, that doesn't sound good at all! Why do they have to change things so dramatically?!
I won't be very happy when we change our desktop, even though it's a case of needing to as the old one is getting past it and keeps going wrong. I'm a creature of habit and like things to be just so. As long as I know what I'm doing, I'm okay. I'll be a right old grumpy moo if everything is as frustrating as all that. Keep at it Wendy! Hopefully you'll get your head around it soon. These things make me feel so old. I can't keep up with all this modern technology

No, don't crack it, then you'll need to get another and go through it all again,

I've given up for now. Back on my old one.

The My Computer icon is replaced by a folders icon on the taskbar (not sure if it was on there or if I put it on there myself). I ditched the touchpad for the wireless mouse. If you right click right at the top of your browser anywhere that's a blank area then options menu will appear for what to have up there like menu bar, favourites bar etc.
I have my screen showing desktop all the time which makes it look like old versions of windows that we know well |

We've tried everything to get the little star back that denotes the the favourites menu. Managed to get it back but the menu now drops down on the left instead of the right and it stays until you click the cross. What happened to the menu on the right I have no idea.

Mine almost went through the window yesterday. I could not find out why Lightroom imported my photos from my memory card despite me having it set to NOT do that! I tried setting other programmes as the default importer from within those programmes' menus but eventually I discovered that no matter what you set any of them at you can only change what opens you memory card from a setting within Windows settings, mad!

Have you managed to get anywhere with it over the weekend, Wendy?

I had been wondering how you were getting on. I hate it that the BT home page keeps coming up; I have that problem too.
Sounds as if you're making a little headway, albeit frustratedly.
