Realy tiny young leaves can be picked and fed, before the spines mature on the leaf.

I don't tend to bother with them - too risky getting to the little leaves and my guys aren't fussed about them.

I've picked them for my four but they don't bother with them!

Tortoise edible plant list's are quite interesting to some, but to new keeper's of tort's and sometimes even gardening, growing, collecting, can be daunting at first and beyond. Maybe no one told them you have start studying to become a grade Botonist aswell . There is no need to struggle with it so much and to help with the weekly feeding/nutrition there's commercial diet's, pellets and herb cob's used with guide lines same as fresh food's.

well we had a bit more luck today, we have ordered the weeds mix off shelled shop and we also have the komodo pellets to feed every now and then. Just out of interest how quick do the weeds mix take to grow their first shoots?
