I have to admit to sending some "not so nice" messages to people on preloved, and did in this case but got no response back...i see some really poor sights on there and i just want to go and buy them all but obviously that isnt possible...i'm thinking of getting hubby to build a much bigger enclosure though so i would have space for some of these poor little torts.

think there needs to be a law introduced to stop this kind of thing happening. there is no way any "normal" human can think that this is the correct way to keep each of these animals. i think its about time homes were vetted and owners knowledge tested on the species they wish to keep!!!!!

I agree totally...and with forums like this one around,i dont understand how people can fail to research and gain all the necessary knowledge they need to keep happy healthy tortoises...if there is something im not sure about,i will ask...it's simple.
With a lot of people i think it all comes down to "i can't be bothered" at the end of the day!
