It was my sons 12th birthday yesterday, he had a lovely day. Today my daughter woke me to tell me one of his guinea pigs has died, his favorite one, Squeak. Kian hasn't got up yet, he had a late night, so I haven't told him, dreading that job. Scrap that, he's just got up and is heartbroken.

Then I went into the aviary to feed the budgies and one followed me into the porch. I turned round to let him back in to the main part of the aviary, he flew around and bit, then went down to the floor and died. We called him tweedle, as in tweedle dum and tweedle dee, or the tweedle brothers as they were always together, chatting and preening each other.

Rest in peace little friends, Squeak and tweedle.

The pig was 4 years old, quite young for a pig really. We think he had bloat, a condition they get that can kill the very quickly and if caught fast and they are made better, it recurs quite often.

The budgie was only young but we don't know how he had been treated before we got him. He died of shock, being trapped in a small area with me was just too much for his little heart to take. Makes me wonder what they did to make him so frightened of people.

It's not been a good day to say the least. Ever wish you could wipe out a day and go straight to the next? Kian said "it's been the worst day after my birthday ever" bless him, he's so sad.
