Take it to a vet and get them to check for bad teeth, then get some advice on keeping them clean.

my pup went through a phase of really bad breath and we didn't know whether it was his food or teething, anyway his teeth were fine, he was only 6 months, the food was changed and I bought a water additive. The product is called Tropiclean fresh breath and is put into the drinking water, his breath is now fine but we never knew whether he was teething or his food. The tropiclean is supposed to clean plaque and tartar and contains green tea, I bought it from amazon but have seen it in pets at home, it wasn't cheap but you only need a capfull to the water bowl so should last a few months, again I don't know how good it is but it did have some good write ups. Obviously as its been said teeth are the first thing to check, I didn't know smelly breath was possible when teething untill I did some research.

If their teeth are ok then I feel it is diet, Kiera did have bad breath for a while, I took her to vets & they cleaned her teeth & found out she had a broken tooth, so that would of caused it. If the teeth are ok, then changing the diet will help, I feed raw & her breath is fine.
