If you wanna get all technical it's the tympanic membrane .
Very important to keep an eye on this area as any swelling can indicate an abscess. It's also made me think of a question. As they are a "scale" of sorts do tortoises shed this scale or does it just grow? I know iguana's shed it as they grow. |
