Carrots
Hi guys
Been asked a question by a guy who has purchased one of my hatchlings and I'm not sure on an answer. He asked if he could feed carrots to which I said I think he can but only like a couple of times a month as part of a weed diet but said to wait till I can confirm this! Also he asked if carrot can help with infertility? What are the reasons for not feeding carrot so I can be sure in my mind I don't feed it to mine to be honest but need to advise him Cheers guys

The Tortoise Table's explanation about carrots is probably better than one I could give... they give it Amber (feed in moderation)

Carrot's draw up as one of the better veg to feed in moderation, Calcium to phosphorus rating 1:1, Potasium not that high, middle'ish. One of the reason's not to overfeed Carrot contains Beta carotene giving the redish colour found in most plant's. Excess of B-Carotene can be stored in the liver and other organs and can interfer with vitamin D and A. This refer's to Mammals mainly .
