can you recommend a lighting and heat source
Hi all
I am sorry to say I have been let down by arcadia basking lamp and I am now looking for a different product. Can I point put that customer service in arcadia is brilliant however I no longer have faith in the product and I am looking to seek an alternative to tge 100 w basking d3 bulb that I have previously had. Petey is in a tortoise table. Please recommend a product as I need to get this sorted for him asap.

I use a separate uv tube and basking light. For the basking light I use an ordinary household halogen 70w bulb in a spot light holder, and a uv strip bulb, I do use Arcadia , they are a good product, so don't be put off. Got mine from Northampton reptile centre. I find using separate uv strip floods the table with more light and the warm end temps are easier to control.

I know they are a good product just disappointed just now. Bulb blew got a replacement sent and this blew within a minute.
I think I will go for the uv tube actually. How do you fix it to your table and where? Thats the problem I have imagining it

Because I have indoor rabbit cages, I hang the tube from the cage top, just using small bulldog clips , I clip the cables to the wire cage, but if you have a wooden table, you will need a cross bar of some sort to hang it from. My spot light is a clip on, and I clip it to the sides of the cage , on the inside, got those on Amazon. Hope this helps. I find using two separate bulbs is a good system.

I also use a UV tube. I use Arcadia D3 12% tubes http://www.onlinereptileshop.co.uk/r....04kaASuU.dpbs
and you need a controller unit for it to fix into. http://www.onlinereptileshop.co.uk/r....f0sb0BwW.dpbs You attach it to the side of your table or some people have adapted their tables so the tube is suspended above. Best to get a reflector too. http://www.onlinereptileshop.co.uk/r....N5p68doA.dpbs I use a normal heat bulb for the basking light and have it in a ceramic lamp. Hope that helps.

You can also buy the T5 slimline canopy lights as well, these ones only have one cable and the controller is built in.
I also have a couple of the Arcadia D3+ T5 canopy flood lights with separate 75w halogen spot lights. So far these look to be very good as well with a wide area of Uv coming from the flood. Hope this helps Andy |

Would I be able to out this on the side of his table or is this too close to him? I know for heat it has to be a certain height above his shell but I dont know about this?
