Default Halogen bulbs

I'm tempted to use one for a basking bulb but I'm a tad confused, would a 100 watt one that only uses 70 watts of energy heat up to that of a normal 100? I know it's a blonde question, but bare with me.

I must be missing something, it seems to be just saying 100 watts. Looks like a 100 watt halogen which would provide the amount you'd expect. Are you in the states?

I bought one and it says it uses only 70 wattage. No, in the UK.

Hi LL

I think it would provide 70 Watts of energy most of which would be heat. One other factor worth thinking about with halogens is what degree of spread the lamp has. The narrow beam lamps send their heat out the same way and it's better to use a wider beam.

That one says it's a flood lamp which should be good.
