Default Green fly

Does anyone know a tortoise safe way of getting rid of green fly?

My window boxes have got infested again, last year it was so bad they killed all my plants!

Thanks

Spray with soapy water or squash them between your fingers.

just to clarify things, warm soapy water doesn't wash the pests away, the washing up liquid breaks the surface tension of the water and the pests then drown when sprayed.
one drop is enough to do the job.
