Default Combined bulb size help

Hello I'm wanting to get a UVB combined bulb and have heard that the D3 Arcadia bulb is a good one to go with and Surrey pet supplies are a good supplier I'm going with a 100w as my tortoise is in his first table and he's only 2 1/2 years old.

Can you tell me what size bulb I need and what size clamp 5.5" or 8"

Thank you Hannah

I bought a 100w and could not get the temps high enough so have had to buy the higher wattage one already. So would recommend going straight for that

It might depend what shade/holder you are getting. the exo terra holders that i have, the 8" only takes up to 150w but the 10" (25cm) takes up to 200w, that is what you need for a 160w but other brands may be different, I'm only talking about exo terra glow light type.

BTW, age of tort doesn't make a difference to what size bulb to get really

Hi,

Both 100w and 160w Arcadia lamps use the ARM160 20cm fitting. Which is safe to use despite the mis-print on the box which we are adjusting for lamps well over 160w.

The 160w does seem to be better suited to table use.

Good luck

John
