congratulations Marans are one of my favourites are they nice brown eggs i have kept these and wellsummer myself not the friendliest birds though.

Thanks guys for your replies! Our phone lines been down since the bad weather and not been able to get online to upate.
Sharon left the eggs on saturday and sent her time being mum to chick and wouldn't go back to sit on them, so I cracked them 2 were half developed and dead - but one had a baby in! So put it with her and its doing great! Will try to get some pics of them they're so cute Good luck with your quail eggs Chris! |

Hi Joanna. Congrats on getting another chick Look forward to the pics I always used to check on the unhatched eggs - sometimes they were simply struggling to hatch because of lack of humidity at hatching time and a little help was all that was needed. Occasionally, the eggs would be infertile which would result in an explosion of the most foul-smelling liquid which was really hard to get rid of! Goose eggs were the worst for this
