humidity in incubator
What humidity is needed in incubator? I have now got it up and running and decided to put it down stairs as it's too hot in my room due to four tortys living in here too and couldn't get the temp stable. Does the humidity need to be stable all the Time? There is some but not sure how much until my digital them and hydrometer thing comes tomorro hopefully ( unless I can borrow my brothers)? Is the temp more important. I also read that it needs to be in a dark quiet room is this true I dont have one? Everyone out thru day anyway?

To keep the temps stable you could use a pulse thermostat , I used one of these this summer and it worked really well.

I used one because the thermostat on my incubator wasn't very good and the temps were quite unstable . A pulse proportional thermostat takes over from the one in the incubator . You plug the incubator into the thermostat and then the thermostat into the mains, it pulses the electricity and keeps the temps really stable. If yours is now stable then don't bother but if your having trouble with it, this will sort out the problem. I got my from northampton reptiles , look under equipment then thermostats.
I use vermiculite , really it's just to keep the egg stable and not role , the egg just needs to sit in a little dip in the soil or vermiculite .
