Getting worried about Lucky
He was doing fine, was eating well, although very small amounts, was venturing around and always nosey if I moved or changed anything he'd be there checking out what I was doing, but the last wk/10 days he's started eating less and less, hardly anything, I have even resorted to tempt him with tomato which he does love but will only take a few tiny mouthfuls but then its if he's too tired to eat, he only stays out for an hour or so but then off to sleep in his hide, and much longer than before, He does wake up himself even when buried and I bath him everyday for about 15/20 mins, I'v tried altering his temps under his lamp, a bit higher and a bit lower but that doesnt make any difference, temps at minute 30'
I'm concerned about the fact he seems to be off his food and cos he's hardly eating he's not getting any nurbol either, he'll only be 10 wks on friday would this be natural instinct to try and hibernate or do you think he needs to see the vet, he's only 13grams , so small, just dont know if I'm worrying for nothing, he's just so different, even if I take him to the vet he's so small I dont know if the vet could help

Thanks for your reply, Lucky weighed 7grams and was doing really well, he hasn't lost weight YET, just not eating enough to make the scales move in the right direction, I was wondering about the worms but thought maybe that because he'd been on his own in his own table, (since hatching) this wouldn't be a problem, could the vet worm one so tiny?

tortoises can pick up worms from the weeds they eat
yes such a tiny tort could be treated but obviously it will be a very small dosage of medication however with such a small tort i would definately have the faeces tested to see if worming is necessary |

My lot have all slowed down over these last few weeks. Happens every year as it gets colder. Even if I up the temps they are still lazier

Thanks everyone its just with him being soooo tiny he's not got much in the way of reserves, at the moment his weight is 13 grams and that hasn't moved now for a couple of weeks, just feel he's gotta be eating more or else it will start to drop, plus like linda says need to get a poo sample but that could be a task in itself, not eating, no poo, oh really hope its just the time of year, I would be devastated if anything happened to the little man, he's such a spunky character. xx

cath it might be worth giving reptiboost a go
