April 2010 tortoise meeting

Welcome to the April 2010 meeting. Why not come along and learn more about tortoises, terrapins and turtles. Meet people with similar interests in a friendly and relaxed environment. Listen to talks, exchange ideas and swap friendly advice on every aspect of tortoise keeping. All ages welcome.

Just Me and my Tortoise is a voluntary tortoise, terrapin and turtle group that covers the whole of Kent and London and provides support, education and helps rescue and re-home Chelonia. It is free to join us and you do not have to live in the area to come along to our meetings.

Ever posted a question about CITES or on Article 10 ...

Here are the details of the April 2010 Just Me and my Tortoise meeting:

Saturday 24th April at 2pm

The role of the CITES Team at Heathrow, including illegal trade in Chelonia and smuggling into the UK

Speaker: Tim Luffman Higher Officer, CITES Team, UK Border Agency (formally HM Revenue & customs)

and

Everything you need to know about Article 10 ... how to spot a legal/illegal Artical 10 .... you can also bring along your Article 10 to see if it is valid or seek advice on what to do if you wish to sell

Speaker: John Hounslow, the Head of the Wildlife Licensing and Registration Service, Bristol

Venue: Keston Village Hall, Heathfield Road, Kent BR2 6BG
£2 per person (£1 per child)
Includes refreshments and cake

(Please do not bring tortoises, terrapins or turtles along to the meeting)

Sounds fun . . . but unfortunately, I can't come as its too far

But everyone that is going, let me know how fun it is! I know it mostly is just information on care and health of tortoises and terrapins, possibly turtles, but I think its FUN to LEARN about tortoises!

Aww Guys and gals Im really sorry I wont be able to make this one

We are making Teddys outdoor setup, I have been nagging my hubby to get going with it and if I dont get it done soon it will never get done lol...
I really enjoyed the last event, I will make the next one! My hubby prob wont want to join me so I would be very grateful if I could jump in with someone who is near to me in Dartford! I would contribute towards pertol
